Green Information Technology Award winner: Marcus Krawinkler

Source:  TechTarget

The Green Information Technology Award is given to a leader whose initiative promoted ecological and sustainable IT. Our Green Information Technology Award winner, Marcus Krawinkler, manager of IT systems and operations at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, advocated for keeping the foundation's IT infrastructure on-site at its new headquarters, and crafted the plan behind the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) platinum-certified building. Krawinkler looked beyond the cloud, and as a result, the foundation opened the truly net-zero energy facility in June 2012.
