Survey of IT leaders offers insights into 2009 IT purchasing plans

While the economic recession will affect IT purchasing plans for 2009, according to a recent survey of IT leaders, the news isn't all bad: Spending is expected to increase in key areas like information security, regulatory compliance and business software. The survey of 275 IT managers conducted by SearchCIO.com and SearchCIO-Midmarket.com also found that virtualization will continue to make gains in both enterprises and the midmarket.
