DEFINITION - BroadVision makes sophisticated e-commerce software for companies who want to sell and service products over the Web. Its customers include leaders in their field. BroadVision's One-to-One product suite include tools that deal with strategic planning, implementation, and operational support. The main idea of the One-to-One suite is that users can personalize the content they see allowing a business to deal individually with each user.

BroadVision has worked with industry giants such as Wal-Mart on the re-launch of its online superstore; Macromedia to create a Web site that is capable of tailoring marketing materials to specific customers based on their user profiles; and RandMcNally.com to develop an interactive travel service Web site. With Bank of America, BroadVision plans to develop or market content services to companies for their intranets.

BroadVision was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Redwood City, Calif. As of April 2000, BroadVision had over 770 employees. Publicly traded on NASDAQ (BVSN), BroadVision was ranked 365 in the Forbes 500.
