The Enterprise IT Leader of the Year Award is given to a leader whose efforts signified an achievement on many levels, including several other categories, and has made a substantial impact to a business or industry. Our Enterprise IT Leader of the Year Award winner, Eric Hawley, CIO at Utah State University, observed that his organization's IT departments were plagued with inefficiencies and siloed from one another, and decided that centralized IT was in order.
Hawley's good-natured approach to the CIO job? "I think the most important thing anyone in the CIO position can do is figure out if people hate your organization," he says with a laugh.
