I am presently working as a computer science lecturer. I am very much interested in the new concepts of business outsourcing. I would like to shift to this field. With my experience of nine years, what kind of a position do I look for?

Given your background, you would probably want to first take up a technology assignment in medium to large BPO company. This experience will introduce you to the BPO world while ensuring that you are adding value in your job. From there you can start moving slowly into operations or sales if that is what interests you.
